Care for natural fabrics.
Cashmere, merino wool, silk blends and our other delicate natural-fibre pieces benefit from thoughtful, gentle care. Follow these everyday essentials, always guided by the label inside your garment.
Gentle hand wash
When the care label permits.
30°C maximum
Machine wash only if permitted; suitable wool or delicate cycle, low spin.
Do not bleach
Choose a fibre-appropriate gentle detergent.
Do not wring
Press gently with a clean towel.
Dry flat
Reshape knitwear and dry in the shade.
Do not tumble dry
Let delicate pieces air dry naturally.
The gentle
washing ritual.
For hand-washable natural-fibre knitwear and accessories. Wash similar colours together and use a detergent suitable for all fibres in the blend.
Prepare
Turn the piece inside out. Fill a clean basin with water no warmer than 30°C and add a little fibre-appropriate detergent, following its dosage instructions.
Wash & rinse
Gently press water through the fabric without scrubbing. Rinse carefully in water at a similar temperature; avoid long soaking.
Press & reshape
Support the garment as you lift it. Press gently between clean towels to absorb water. Do not wring. Ease it back into shape.
Dry & rest
Lay flat on a clean dry towel in the shade with air circulating. Change the towel if wet. Let the piece dry completely before folding.
Put softness away,
with care.
Good storage is part of lasting ownership. Clean your pieces before putting them away, allow them to dry fully, and choose a cool, dry space away from sunlight.
Your Bellemere garment bag
Use your Bellemere non-woven garment bag to help shield clean, dry pieces from dust during storage. Fold knitwear and keep it supported on a shelf or in a drawer. Hang structured coats on a broad hanger inside the bag.
Our bag is for storage, not washing. Do not put damp garments inside. It is not a guaranteed barrier against moths.
A touch of cedarwood
Cedarwood blocks or sachets can complement your storage routine. Keep them beside garments, separated by a pouch or tissue to avoid direct contact and possible oil marks.
Follow the cedar product’s instructions. Cedar alone does not guarantee moth protection: clean storage and regular checks remain essential.
Keep your favourites
for longer.
Air between wears
Let knitwear rest and refresh in a shaded, ventilated place. Wash when needed rather than automatically after every wear.
Handle pilling gently
Small surface pills can appear with friction. On suitable knits, remove them gently with a cashmere comb while the garment is dry and flat; avoid fine silk knits and decorated areas.
Protect the finishing touches
Rhinestones, leather badges, pom-poms and trims may need different care. Follow the specific label and avoid rubbing, soaking or steaming embellishments unless approved.
Repair early
Attend to loose seams and small holes promptly. A careful repair can help you continue enjoying a favourite piece.
Luxury to live with.
Care to carry forward.
We believe the pleasure of a beautiful piece should continue beyond its first wear. Thoughtful aftercare is part of our commitment to lasting comfort.
